Parish Director

St Francis of Assisi Ohariu Parish is seeking a Parish Director, one of the four positions to work collaboratively in the Parish Support Team.

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Catholic Leader who can provide pastoral, spiritual and organisational leadership and oversight for the faith community of St Francis of Assisi Ohariu.

You will be a unifying and animating presence for the whole parish, the one who invites and empowers people of faith to carry out the mission of the church. You would follow the outcomes of the Archdiocesan Synod, leading new projects in response to the Parish Vision and mission statement.

Ideally you will have pastoral leadership experience, be an excellent communicator with well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills and can work collaboratively and effectively with our Community of Communities.

We are looking for someone with a background of active involvement in Catholic parish life, and who holds qualifications, ideally in theology or church-related disciplines. Business experience an asset.

Volunteer Roles

St Francis of Assisi Ohariu Parish - Liturgy Team 

We are currently looking for three representatives from each of the church centers in our parish. They will be a representative for their church center in the newly established Parish Liturgy Team. The Representatives and Parish Liturgy Team will serve and lead the Public Prayer life of our faith community.

Ideally that person should have:

  • Knowledge of liturgy
  • Leadership abilities
  • Currently involved in Liturgical Ministry, e.g. maybe already a reader or..

Minister of the Eucharist.

  • Who has time to dedicate to the Team
  • Who demonstrates an understanding of the St Francis for Assisi Vison and Mission
  • Willing to follow the Synod 2017 outcomes as they apply to liturgy and wider mission of the Church
